RETENTION DEPT: PRODUCTS & SERVICES; reMEMBER = RETENTION!

A recurring theme we hear at every conference is, "Now that we have them on board, how do we keep them coming back?" Member retention is an ongoing challenge for every Chamber in the country. As we were designing and developing reMEMBER, we kept that issue at the forefront of our minds, and through our referral tracking, we have provided a very useful retention tool automated into the software.

reMEMBER's group and individual referral tracking allows you a simple way to manage and

report on referrals you have directed to your members. You have the ability to identify a referral to an individual member or tie the referral to a group of members in a matter of seconds. In fact, every membership directory sent out can be identified as a referral for each member in your database simply by clicking on a single option in the group referrals module.

Now, to make the most of the referral information, reMEMBER automatically creates a referral report as part of the member invoicing process. The referral report is printed and collated as part of the invoice to be shipped out to the members. This report identifies the referrals your chamber has provided the member during the current billing period. Now the member has a concrete piece of information showing the value of the Chamber membership and is encouraged to rejoin your Chamber.

Another challenge facing chambers is staff retention. As employees come and go, so does the

knowledge and experience you rely on, especially if you are running one of the DOS based

software applications that are so difficult to use and understand. No one likes dealing with staff turnover, but wouldn't it be nice to know that at least your software would be easy to use for your new (and current) employees? In many cases, staff turnover may be due to morale issues. I don't know many better ways to motivate your staff than by giving them the best tool available to assist them in doing their jobs. reMEMBER is that tool!
