Building a Better Mousetrap

Our last article went into great “techno” depths about reMEMBER.  This time I would like to step back and tell the history of how reMEMBER came about.  CompuSol, Inc. is a member of the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce, NAMD’s Chamber of the Year for 1998/1999.  While assisting Greg Solomon and his staff with some networking issues, my partner, Christie Thornton, and I noticed the membership software the Chamber was using and were shocked at how outdated it was (technology wise).

 

It was at that point we decided it would be fun to provide Greg with a newer and better tool to help manage his Chamber.  So back to the office we went and began banging out a better “mousetrap”.  However, it didn’t take long to realize we knew more about mousetraps than we did about the Chamber business!  Our strengths are in technology and utilizing the best tools and the best people to build the mousetrap.  So back to Greg (and his staff) we went, over and over again, building a little, getting feedback, building a little more, more feedback, and so on.

 

What we later discovered, (and have continued to hear at Chamber Conferences across the country), is that Burleson was not the only Chamber hurting for a good, easy to use, software application.  We decided then to get several other Chambers on board to insure we were getting a broad amount of feedback and were making this a product every Chamber would be excited about.

 

Over the last several months we have showcased reMEMBER at a number of Chamber Conferences.  I am excited to say we have received comments (COMPLIMENTS) such as:

  • “Best of Show!”

  • “How can you sell that much functionality, combined with that technology, at such a low price?!”

  • “It truly is user friendly.  It reminds me of Microsoft Word.  I know how to use Word so I feel very comfortable moving through reMEMBER.”

  • “It’s not only easy to use but it’s nice to look at and if I have to have this on my desk 8 hours a day, I might as well enjoy what I’m seeing!”

 

The wonderful feedback has really been a boost for us and reinforced that we are definitely creating a better mousetrap!
